The smarter way to control your skylight
Our made-to-measure blackout skylight blind is engineered to fit any flat roof skylight, roof lantern, or sloped glazing — with zero compromise on style or performance. Simply enter your exact dimensions, choose your options, and we'll manufacture your blind to size and deliver it within 7–9 working days.
Built around a high-quality powder-coated aluminium frame, the blind uses a unique cellular material with an internal silver foil coating — blocking virtually 100% of light while significantly reducing heat gain in summer and heat loss in winter. It's not just a blind. It's a year-round thermal upgrade for your skylight.
Unlike standard skylight blinds, there are no visible cords, no supporting wires, and no clutter crossing your glass. The belt-driven mechanism keeps everything hidden, giving you a clean, contemporary look that complements modern architecture perfectly.
Key benefits of the Hi-Sky skylight blind
100% Blackout Performance
The silver foil cellular material blocks virtually all light — ideal for bedrooms, media rooms, or anywhere you need complete darkness.
Zero Visible Wires or Cords
Belt-driven, not cord-driven. No wires cross your skylight — just clean, uninterrupted glass when the blind is open.
Remote Control as Standard
Every motorised blind comes with a remote control included. Open and close your blind without leaving your seat.
Reduces Heat Gain & Heat Loss
The internal silver foil coating reflects summer heat and retains warmth in winter — making your home more comfortable and energy-efficient all year.
Made to Your Exact Size
No standard sizes. Every blind is manufactured to your precise dimensions — just measure your recess and we do the rest.
No Electrician Needed
Choose our battery or solar option and install your blind with no wiring required — simple plug-and-play, ready to use straight away.
Made in Britain
Designed and manufactured in our UK factory in Stamford — precision-built to order, not mass-produced abroad.
5 Year Warranty
Every Hi-Sky blind comes backed by a 5 year warranty as standard — built to last and supported if anything goes wrong.
Fast 7–9 Day Delivery
Manufactured and delivered within 7–9 working days. Ready-to-Install blinds are delivered by our own vans to prevent damage in transit.
No wires. No cords. No clutter.

Belt-Driven Mechanism
Our blinds use a belt drive rather than cords, so there are no wires crossing your skylight — open or closed.
Self-Supporting Material
The cellular blind material contains self-supporting inserts — no central wire needed to hold the blind in position.
Clean, Minimal Look
When open, your skylight looks exactly as it should — glass, light, and sky. Nothing else in the way.

How to measure your skylight
Measuring is straightforward — just give us the internal recess size and we take care of the rest.
Step 1 — Measure
Measure wall to wall (plasterboard to plasterboard) inside your skylight recess — both width and height.
Step 2 — Enter Your Dimensions
Enter those exact measurements when placing your order. No need to deduct anything — we handle that for you.
Step 3 — We Do the Rest
We automatically deduct 10mm (5mm clearance on each side) so your blind fits perfectly inside the recess with no gaps.
No plasterboard yet? If your plasterboard hasn't been fitted, measure the aluminium frame to the internal aluminium frame. The blind should be installed before the plasterboard for a flush, minimal look — then board around it afterwards.

Installation guide
Installing your Hi-Sky skylight blind is a straightforward process. If you ordered the Ready to Install option, the whole job takes just a few minutes. Follow the steps below for a perfect fit.
Step 1 — Position the Blind
Place the assembled blind frame into your skylight recess approximately 50mm below the glazing. This gives you the correct clearance between the blind and the glass above.
Step 2 — Pack the Frame
Use the packers provided to fill the 5mm gap on either side of the blind outer frame — between the aluminium frame and the plasterboard. This holds the blind square and prevents movement.
Step 3 — Screw Into Place
Fix the blind frame in place using the fixings provided. Four screws in total — one at each corner. No specialist tools required.
Step 4 — Conceal the Power Cord
If you have chosen the Mains Electric option, route the power cord behind the plasterboard before boarding up. This keeps your ceiling completely wire-free once finished.
Step 5 — Finish the Edges
Fill any gap between the blind frame and the wall using caulk, or trim neatly with beading for a clean, professional finish.
Step 6 — Connect Power & Pair Remote
Plug in your power supply or insert the battery pack (pre-connected — no wiring needed). Pair your remote control following the quick-start instructions included in the box.
Important installation notes
📐 Plasterboard Not Fitted Yet?
If your plasterboard hasn't been installed, fit the blind first and then board around it afterwards. This gives a seamless, flush finish with the blind frame partially hidden behind the plasterboard.
🔋 Battery Pack Location
The battery pack mounts flush inside the blind frame via a bracket — easy to access and remove for recharging. Everything is pre-connected with simple plug-in connectors. No wiring required.
☀️ Solar Panel
If you chose the Solar option, the solar panel is fixed above the outer blind frame and trickle-charges the battery pack automatically. Arrives pre-fitted when ordered Ready to Install.
🔧 Self-Assembly Kit
If you ordered the Self-Assembly Kit rather than Ready to Install, allow approximately one hour per blind for on-site assembly before following the steps above.
